Airport to be the newest stop for city transit

A partnership has been announced between the Regina Airport and the City of Regina to have city transit buses go directly to the airport.

Busses will make stops at the terminal building as well as some of the tenant areas on the north side where organizations like Canada Post are.

“This is big news for passengers and employees at the airport having now an option to be able to take a city bus to drop them off directly in front of the terminal building is going to be huge,” says James Bogusz, Chief Executive Officer at the Regina Airport.

The transit routes to and bus stops at the airport will become operational in May of 2023.

The partnership between the airport and the city includes a cost-sharing agreement to get this initiative started.

“We’ve offered $100,000 per year starting in 2023 for the first three years to help offset some of the start-up costs,” says Bogusz.

The airport will be investing in bus shelters and infrastructure to support the new route.

“We’re very excited to this see happen and we know it’s been a mutual excitement from the city and our partners there,” says Bogusz.
