Province continues support for veterans service clubs

As we head into Remembrance Day, the provincial government announced their support for veterans service clubs.
Parks, Culture and Sport, awarded $487,000 in the second intake period this year, closing on August 31st.
They’ve awarded $1.4 million in 2022-2023 for 82 applications.
The program is administered by the Royal Canadian Legion’s Saskatchewan Command, and THEY also sit on the adjudication committee with the Saskatchewan ANAVETS.

The funding can help with buying needed upgrades on their buildings, such as with flooring, roofing and appliances.
“Thanks to this funding, Veterans Service Clubs throughout Saskatchewan are able to receive assistance with operations and upgrading facilities, affording them the ability to focus on our mission of serving veterans and communities,” said Carol Pederson president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Saskatchewan Command in a media release.
The program has raised more than $3 million since it started in 2019-2020.
