City reminds residents to clear their sidewalks

Since the snow isn’t going anywhere, the City of Regina reminds residents of the sidewalk clearing bylaw.

This regulation came into effect on January 1, 2022, as part of The Clean Property Bylaw.

Residents are asked to clear snow and ice from their sidewalks to maintain an even and walkable surface.

Snow and ice must be cleared to the edges of the sidewalk or as close to the pavement as possible.

Most property owners are expected to clear sidewalks within 48 hours after a snowfall.

Owners will be issued a notice of non-compliance if the snow isn’t cleared within the timeframe.

To help with Icy sidewalks, the city offers free sand and salt mix for residents to create safer walking areas.

Sandbox locations can be found on the city’s website.
