Mixed outlook for grain prices this winter

There’s a mixed outlook for grain prices this winter.

The chief market analyst with FarmLink Marketing Solutions, Neil Townsend, says large supplies of lower quality wheat from Russia and Australia could affect the market this winter.

But he says demand remains strong for Canada’s high quality wheat.

Townsend expects wheat prices to remain flat for a couple months but stresses any change in the war in Ukraine will affect wheat markets.

For canola, he expects continued buoyant markets but says a large supply of oilseeds in South America is a concern.
