Man Robbed by Person He Met on Dating App

Police in Saskatoon have mad an arrest, after a man claimed he was robbed by another man he met on a dating app.

The 36 year old man invited this person to his home, and when he arrrived he had a gun, and threatened to rob him.

There was a scuffle and the gun went off, and the suspect took off with the victim’s car, bank card, cell phone and the contents of the victim’s gun safe.

Police with the help of the “air” unit rounded up the suspect a short time later. He not only had some of the stolen items, but was also had some MDMA, or ecstacy.

A 22 year old man from Prince Albert is facing 17 charges, including armed robbery, uttering threats, and carrying a concealed weapon.  He’s also facing charges of possession of drugs..

Police remind you to be cautious with dating apps.  They suggest meeting the person for the first time in public place.  If you feel uncomfortable, trust your instincts, and leave.
