While the East coast of Canada braces for a blast of winter – here in Saskatchewan the snow pile is going to get a little bit deeper as well.
A weather system is set to move through the south east corner of the province – bringing with it more snow.
Environment and climate change meteorologist Teri Lang says the snow will be light in most parts – but the southeast corner could see tricky driving conditions.
A Colorado low coming up is the culprit. Though Lang says the intensity of this low is weaker. Most of the affects will be into the Dakota’s and Minnesota.
Lang says we can expect 10-15 cm of snow late in the day tuesday, into the overnight hours of wednesday.
Winds will remain calm – but we will still see drifts and some blowing snow which could lead to tricky driving for the better part of the week.
The snow should taper off by Thursday.
Lang says the snow should stick around until the holidays – ensuring a very white Christmas on the prairie.
