Sask Stock Growers president see 2022 as a mixed year for cattle producers

2022 is being described as a mixed year for cattle producers across Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Stock Growers president Garner Deobald says producers had more rainfall this past year but the southwest remains extremely dry.

Some producers are being forced to haul water.

But he says cattle prices were on the upswing this fall, as was costs like of fertilizer and feed.

Deobald says he is optimistic about cattle prices in the coming year because of declining cattle numbers in the U.S.
