There were 678 cases of COVID-19 reported in the last two weeks in the province’s Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program situation report.
In the heath authority’s bi-weekly report about COVID-19, influenza and RSV, test positivity is down to 5.4 per cent in the week from Jan. 8-14 from 6.9 in the first week from Jan. 1 to 7.
There were also 358 cases of RSV reported in the two week period between January 1 and January 14 of this year.
In the last two weeks, there were 16 deaths reported for people with Covid-19, while no deaths due to influenza were reported in the previous two weeks.

Influenza appears to be much less of a factor here in Saskatchewan.
There were 53 lab confirmed positive tests in the previous two weeks, while test positivity dropped from 7.7 per cent in December to 1.5 per cent in the most recent week.

School illness absenteeism was at 4.6 per cent of Saskatchewan students on January 4th to 7th but rose to 8.6 per cent in the following week.
RSV decreased from 199 to 159 positive laboratory tests with the highest respiratory virus test positivity of 14.5 per cent, mainly in preschool age children.
