Pats earn single point with OT loss in Red Deer

 

The Regina Pats began their four-game trip through Alberta with a 6-5 overtime loss in Red Deer against the Rebels on Tuesday night.

Tanner Howe had a career high four assists for the Pats. Connor Bedard had a goal and a pair of assists to extend his point streak to 34 games. Borya Valis had a pair of goals with Alexander Suzdalev and Sam Oremba also scoring for the Pats.

Red Deer held a 3-2 lead after the first period before Regina came back in the second period to take a 5-4 advantage. The Rebels would tie the game in the third period and won it in overtime.

Kelton Pyne made his start since January 6, he had 26 saves.

Regina is now 1-1-1 against the Rebels this season.

With the single point, the Pats move into a tie for seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with the Swift Current Broncos at 47 points.

On Wednesday night, Regina will head to Calgary and meet the Hitmen.
