January goes into the record books in southern Saskatchewan as drier and warmer than normal.
Environment Canada meteorologist Terri Lang says most of southern Saskatchewan had a mean temperature of three degrees warmer than usual for the month of January.
Lang says Regina’s mean temperature was minus 12.3 in January, 2.4 degrees warmer than normal.
Precipitation was 6.6 millimeters, which is 57 percent below normal.
Lang says Regina had its 35th driest January, while Yorkton had its 8th driest and Swift Current third driest on record.
