Pats look to keep momentum going in Lethbridge

The Regina Pats begin the back half of their four-game road trip through Alberta tonight in Lethbridge as they square off with the Hurricanes.

So far, the Pats have collected three out of a possible four points after matchups in Red Deer and Calgary. Wednesday’s victory over the Hitmen also moved Regina’s road record over the .500 mark as it now sits 12-11-2-0.

Heading into this evening’s contest, Regina trails the Hitmen by four points for sixth spot in the Eastern Conference.

After his two-point effort on Wednesday, Connor Bedard sits on top of the three main offensive categories in the Western Hockey League (WHL). During his 35-game point streak, Bedard has collected 44 goals, 46 points and 90 points. The Pats captain is also on a 11-game goal streak, the last time Bedard was unable to score a goal for the Pats was back on November 29 against the Kelowna Rockets.

Tonight will mark the second time this season the Pats will meet the Hurricanes. Their first encounter was at the Brandt Centre on October 16 with the Hurricanes skating away with a 4-3 shoot0ut win. The two teams will have a pair of matchups before the end of the regular season, February 20th in Regina and March 10th back in Lethbridge.

The Hurricanes have won their last three games. On Wednesday night they defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-1. They have also picked up points in their last six games. Lethbridge is holding down the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference with 59 points.
