A renewal of the Trans-Canada rivalry will take place at a sold-out Brandt Centre on Saturday night as the Regina Pats meet the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Regina’s last game was Sunday. a 5-1 loss in Medicine Hat. The Pats did enjoy a successful trip through Alberta with a 2-1-1 record with wins against Calgary and Lethbridge.
Heading into tonight’s action, the Pats are tied with the Swift Current Broncos for seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. Both teams are one point ahead of Medicine Hat for a playoff spot in the East.
The Warriors are coming off a home-ice win against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night. Before that matchup, Moose Jaw was 2-1 on a three-game trip through Alberta.
In partnership with the Western Hockey League, the Pats and ten other WHL Clubs are participating in the Orange Jersey Project throughout the month. Teams will wear special-edition orange jerseys, complete with the WHL Truth and Reconciliation logo.
Tonight will be the first night the Pats will wear these jerseys before a game. They will also wear them on February 20, 22 and 25, as well as during warmups for the Pats Indigenous Celebration Night on March 15.
