The pace of house sales continues to slow in Saskatchewan.
According to the Saskatchewan Realtors Association, there were 854 sales across the province in the month of February. That’s down 19 percent compared to February of last year.
“We continue to see higher lending rates and supply challenges contribute to a pullback in sales,” said Association CEO Chris Guérette. “I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but our biggest concern is still inventory levels, specifically in the more affordable segment of our housing continuum.”
In Regina inventory continues to be an issue, and sales are down 21 percent compared to the same time last year.
The average selling price has been creeping up to $310,200 in February, slightly below the $312,200 reported in January but well above the February 2021 price of $295,900.
