Fire takes down retail stores in Moose Jaw

Flames could have been seen from kilometres away as a massive fire burned in Moose Jaw Thursday night at a strip mall in the newer retail area in north Moose Jaw.

Around 8 p.m. Moose Jaw Police issued a news release asking the public to stay away from the area.

The Moose Jaw Police Department says that firefighters were on the scene for most of the night putting out the blaze and hot spots.

The fire consumed the Bulk Barn and an adjoining Dollar Tree store in the 300 block of Thatcher Drive.

No injuries have been reported and the cause has yet to be determined.
