On the heels of his 70th goal this season, the Western Hockey League has named Connor Bedard the Player of the Week.
In four games last week, Bedard picked up 17 points (9G-8A).
The Pats captain began the week with a four-point effort (2G-2A) in Regina’s 6-3 win over Brandon.
In the Pats 9-5 loss to Moose Jaw on Friday night, Bedard registered a point on the Pats five goals (3G-2A).
Saturday night saw the 17-year-old matched a season-high with six points (3G-3A) as the Pats rebounded with a win in Moose Jaw.
To close out the weekend, Bedard scored his 70th goal of the season and added an assist in Regina’s 4-2 road victory against Saskatoon. The North Vancouver product became the first Pat in 39 years to score 70 goals in the regular season.
He also became the first player in the WHL to reach 140 points over the last 27 years.
Bedard currently leads the WHL in goals (70), assists (72), points (142) and shots on goal (350).
