Pat Canadians take Game 1 against Blazers in OT

 

The Regina Pat Canadians jumped out to the lead in the SMAAAHL finals against the Saskatoon Blazers after the Pat Canadians defeated the Blazers 3-2 in overtime on Thursday night in Saskatoon.

Koen Senft scored the game-winning goal for Regina on the power play.

Regina opened the scoring in the second period with Zayden Sadlemyer providing the first goal.

After the Blazers tied the game in the third, Steven Steranka gave the Pat Canadians a one-goal lead once again before the Blazers sent the game into overtime.

John MacPherson made 27 saves to earn the win for Regina.

Game 2 of the series goes Saturday at the Co-Operators Centre with a 12:30 faceoff.
