Saskatchewan farmers are anxious to start seeding

The spring melt is well underway, and Agriculture Minister David Marit says seeding will be delayed a bit in areas where there is still some snow.

He believes moisture conditions for the province are good for the most part, adding farmers are likely more concerned with that.

Marit says it’s nice to see dugouts being filled up.

The Water Security Agency says there is a risk for ice jamming and low-lying flooding in some areas, such as Swift Current Creek, Moose Jaw River, Qu’Appelle River and Wood River.

But Marit is confident rural municipalities are watching it closely.
