Rebels head into provincial matchup with 1-2 record at Esso Cup

 

The Regina Rebels suffered their second straight loss (1-2) at the Esso Cup in Prince Albert on Tuesday with a 6-5 loss to the Fraser Valley Rush.

Regina almost completed the comeback as they were trailing by three with less than ten minutes remaining in regulation. The Rebels scored two goals in the final minutes but were unable to find the equalizer.

Greta Henderson had a pair of goals to lead the Rebels. Ashley Grice, Avery Gottselig and Stryker Zablocki also scored for Regina.

On Wednesday, the Rebels will meet the host Prince Albert Bears in an all-Saskatchewan matchup at the Art Hauser Centre.
