Four teens arrested for drug and weapons charges

Last Friday, just before 7:30 p.m., Regina Police Officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on 4th Avenue and Atkinson Street. There were four people in the vehicle and through investigation, police located drugs and cash in the vehicle.

There, all four occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Further investigation led police to a residence in the 1000 block of Broder Street where another search was conducted.

A loaded 12 gauge shot gun was found and as a result, a number of charges were laid.

A 17-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy – who both cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act – as well as 18-year-old Anthony Nahbexie, of Regina, has been charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

All three will make their first court appearances on June 7.

Another 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing several charges:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
  • Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition.
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized.
  • 2x Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order.
  • Fail to Comply With Disposition Section 137 YCJ Act.
  • Fail to Comply With Condition of a Release Order.

The boy will appear in Regina Provincial Court on these charges on today.
