On April 22, at about 4:30 a.m., Punnichy RCMP received a report of an injured woman at a residence in Punnichy.

Officers immediately responded and located an injured female inside the residence. She was later declared deceased by STARS at the scene.

She has been identified as 31-year-old Kihaw Fox from Piapot First Nation. Her family has been notified and victim services have been offered to them.

Shortly after, Punnichy RCMP arrested a man on George Gordon First Nation in connection to the woman’s death.

28-year-old Ethan Sunshine has been charged with one count of second degree murder, criminal negligence causing death and reckless discharge of a firearm, among other charges.

He appeared in court in Punnichy on April 25th.
