Day 2 action at KIOTI Tractors Champions Cup

 

It was a busy Day 2 of the KIOTI Tractors Champions Cup at the Co-Operators Centre in Regina.

On the women’s side after the first two days, the two teams that have jumped out to a 3-0 start are Kerri Einarson’s rink alongside Jennifer Jones team.

While on the men’s side, Brendan Bottcher, Matt Dunstone and the Niklas Edin squads are all tied up with 2-0 records.

In the first draw of the day, Jones beat Silvana Tirinzoni 5-2, Bottcher picked up a 8-4 win against Dropkin, Satsuki Fujisawa over Kaitlyn Lawes 5-2, and Reid Carruthers defeated Ross Whyte 5-3.

The second draw of the day saw Bruce Mouat beat Kelly Knapp 8-2 in 5 ends, Tabitha Peterson gained a 9-5 win over Hasselborg , Brad Gushue defeated Joel Retrornaz 7-2 in 7 ends and Einarson over Clancy Grandy 7-3 in 7 ends.

Inside of the third draw, Jones dominated Rachel Homan with a 10-0 win in 5 ends, John Shuster beat Dropkin 11-4 in 6 ends, Carruthers over Pat Ferris 6-2 in 6 ends, and Isabelle Ladouceur picked up 9-3 win over Fujisawa.

The final draw of the day saw Dunstone defeat Gushue 8-4 in 7 ends, Einarson beat Eun Ji Gim 6-1, Edin edged Mouat 7-6 in 9 ends and Peterson over Roervik 5-3.

It will be a busy day at the Co-Operators Centre once again on Thursday with four draws of action beginning at 8:30.
