Regina Humane Society’s Dreams of a New Facility That Much Closer to Reality

The Regina Humane Society’s dream of building a new Animal Community Centre has been brought a step closer to reality, thanks to a massive $500,000 donation from Dream.

The donation will help the RHS reach its ambitious $15 million fundraising goal for the multi-year capital campaign to build the new centre. The new facility, which is set to open later this fall, will be located in the Harbour Landing.

The Animal Community Centre will be a place for Regina residents to adopt pets, learn about, engage with, and celebrate animals. It is set to be the best place for animal lovers in the Queen City.

Dream’s Regional Vice President, Jason Carlston, said the company is thrilled to support the RHS’s growth and welcome the new facility to one of Dream’s communities, Harbour Landing. Carlston added that creating spaces that are inclusive and enrich the lives of those living and working in neighborhoods is fundamental to Dream’s operations.

RHS Executive Director, Lisa Koch, expressed her gratitude to Dream for the massive donation, stating that the company has been by their side for the past several years as they worked to make the new centre a reality. Koch said the RHS is honored to receive the donation and looks forward to sharing the Dream Dog Play Park at the Animal Community Centre with the community. The RHS plans to build the new $28 million Animal Community Centre supported by a community-wide capital campaign.

With Dream’s massive donation, the RHS is closer to reaching its fundraising goal and making the centre a reality.
