Advantage Edmonton- Sunday will mark the 227th time the Saskatchewan Roughriders will battle the Edmonton Elks, with Edmonton holding a 124-100-2 all-time advantage.

Early Exits- 2022 marked the first time in history that both the Roughriders and the Elks  missed the playoffs in the same season.

Streak Ends Here- One team will end a losing streak carried over from the 2022 season. The Roughriders lost their last seven games last year while the Elks dropped their final four games in 2022.

Road Warriors- In the three matchups between Saskatchewan and Edmonton in 2022, the road team was victorious in all three contests.

Roughriders advantage- Lately Saskatchewan has dominated the season series between the two teams, taking 7 out of the last 8, 9 out of the last 12 matchups.

Not So Sweet Home- Edmonton has lost their last 17 games at home, the longest drought for any CFL team post WWII. Edmonton’s last win at Commonwealth Stadium was October 12, 2019.

50-50- Over the last eight seasons, both Saskatchewan and Edmonton have a 4-4 record in their regular season opening contests.

Young Elk- There will be plenty of fresh faces in Edmonton, the Elks have 14 first-year players on their roster, the most of any CFL team.

Five Club- Trevor Harris will make his debut for the Roughriders on Sunday, his fifth team in the CFL. He joins a group of five other QB’s who’s played with at least five teams. (6: Damon Allen, Matt Dunigan & Kevin Glenn; 5: Jimmy Kemp & Rickey Foggie)

Green and White Experience- A lot of the veteran presence for the Elks spent time in Saskatchewan. The only two players who have started over a 100 games for Edmonton are former Roughriders, Ed Gainey (114) and Loucheiz Purifoy (101).
