A 17-year-old has been charged in a homicide in Saskatchewan that happened during a break-in by three males at a home south of Stockholm and Esterhazy earlier this year.

Police say a man who lived in the home died after a gun was fired during the February 10th break-in, and a woman who lived there was also injured.

The teen faces charges that include first-degree murder and attempted murder, as well as failing to comply with a release order issued by Manitoba Provincial Court.

Police say he’s from north-central Manitoba but can’t name the community because it could identify him, which they say they can’t do as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The other suspects in the case are yet to be apprehended.
