City Kidz Fundraiser at Connexus.

“Building our next generation of leaders, one child at a time.”

It’s the lofty, and admirable goal of “City Kidz” Regina, and their Breakfast of Hope.

The “by donation” breakfast helps raise money for the organization, which assists children in the inner city.

These are kids who generally live in poverty, and have little or no opportunity for any fun activities. For example, on Saturdays, City Kidz brings children to some fun activities, as well as supports for the children from the time they learn to read, until they write their final exams in high school. This gives the kids they support the opportunity to learn leadership skills, to make their community better.

The keynote speaker at the event was Regina Police Chief Evan Bray, who spoke about police interactions with youth, and how they can have positive outcomes.

Bray is retiring from the Regina Police Service at the end of this month.
