Connor Bedard named IIHF Male Player of the Year

 

 

Connor Bedard added another accolade to his impressive season on Monday.

The 17-year-old was named the inaugural IIHF Male Player of the Year.

Bedard led Canada to a gold medal at the 2023 World Junior Championships in Halifax, producing a tournament best 23 points.

In August, the Pats captain helped Canada win Gold at the 2022 World Junior Championships.

This past season in Regina, Bedard had 71 goals and 72 assists in 57 games leading the Pats.

The North Vancouver product will likely be selected by the Chicago Blackhawks with the first overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft in Nashville next week.
