Attempted abduction in North Battleford

The RCMP in North Battleford are investigating an attempted abduction.

Police say this happened between 3 and 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.  A teenaged girl was walking when a man in a black Mazda SUV approached her, and called out to her, asking if she needed money. A very short time later, the vehicle approached her again, and this time the man tried to grab her arm. The teen ran to get help, and the SUV drove away.

Police describe the driver of that vehicle as a white man, with white balding hair. Although police have sent a picture of the vehicle involved, they were unable to furnish a license plate number.

This took place on 110th Street between St. Laurent and 14th Avenue.  Any homes or businesses along that route with outdoor surveillance video are being asked to check that video for this vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the nearest RCMP detachment, or Crimestoppers.
