The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced a couple of roster moves on Tuesday.
Running back Rodney Smith agreed to terms with the team after spending time with the Roughriders at training camp in Saskatoon last month and saw action in Saskatchewan’s two preseason games.
Offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins returns to the roster after beginning the season on the team’s suspended list. Hawkins had left the team to deal with a personal matter.
Smith signed with the National Football League’s (NFL) Carolina Panthers as undrafted free agent in 2020. He also spent time with the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans.
