Ottawa selected to host 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships

 

Hockey Canada announced on Thursday that Ottawa will be the host city for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Regina and Saskatoon were one of the competing bids to host the tournament.

The Canadian Tire Centre, the home of the Ottawa Senators will be the primary site with TD Place hosting 17 tournament games, the home of the Ottawa 67’s serving as the secondary site for the World Juniors.

Ottawa hosted the 2009 IIHF World Juniors where Jordan Eberle scored the game-tying and game-winning goals against Russia in the semi-finals before Canada won their fifth straight gold medal at the time.

The 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships will be held in Sweden.
