Two homicides remain unsolved since 2020 in Regina

Since 2020 there have been 39 homicides in the Queen City.

Of those, just two have seen no charges brought forward, with 64 people charged concerning the other 37 homicides.

The most recent case dates back to February of this year when a 36-year-old man in the Washington Park neighbourhood was deemed the first homicide of 2023.

According to police, initial information indicated the man was the victim of an apparent overdose, but further investigation determined the death to be a homicide.

The second case is in relation to the March 15, 2022, homicide of Leslie Victor John Whitebear.

The 27-year-old was found with a critical injury by police in the 100 block of Davidson Crescent.

Whitebear was taken to the hospital, would he would later die.

Police say both investigations are ongoing and ask if anyone has any information in either of the two cases to contact the Regina Police Service at 1-306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
