New Shared E-Scooter Program Launches Today

A new mode of transportation hits city streets today. Neuron E-Scooters can be found parked all around the downtown area. An app available for both Apple and Android users will allow you to unlock the scooters. Riders must be 16 years old, and you must wear a provided helmet while riding.

Geofencing will allow the scooters to be ridden is specified areas around the city – and will also limit the speed able to be traveled based on where you are riding.

The cost? $1.15 to unlock, and .39 cents per minute.

A 30 day pass providing riders with 90 minutes of ride time each day is available for $109.89 after taxes and fees.

This morning at 10am Mayor Sandra Masters will be officially launching the program from Victoria park and Scarth Street.
