Regina man stabs self while ICE unit searches home

Serious injuries were sustained to a 42-year-old Regina man Tuesday who apparently tried to stab himself while a search warrant of a home was being done through the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Prior to being taken into custody, the man took a knife from his drawer and made several stab wounds to his chest.
Police took the knife and provided first aid to the man before he was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains there in serious condition.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the conduct of police in the incident.
The ICE unit will maintain conduct of the investigation into the man.
