Balgonie’s Matthew Perkins had his dream realized on Thursday.
The Vancouver Canucks selected Perkins with the 119th selection in the 4th round of the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville.
He spent the season with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL and had 44 points (15G-29A).

In 2021-22, Perkins was with the Humboldt Broncos had 59 points (23G-36A) in 57 games.
This upcoming season, the Balgonie product has committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
