Government releases bargaining offer to province’s teachers

The province has announced their collective bargaining offer to the teachers that they’ll bring to the table as they negotiate.

The deal includes three per cent salary increase in 2023, and two per cent increases in both 2024 and 2025.

Education Minister Dustin Duncan said the offer, quote, ensures that wages and benefits for Saskatchewan Teachers remain above the Western Canadian Average.

“Our government recognizes the important work of teachers in our province and the dedication they show to Saskatchewan students,” Duncan said in a media release.

The province said Saskatchewan’s teachers earn salaries “above the average for teachers in western Canada”, while maintaining benefits, the release said.

The current contract ends in August, 2023.
