Two charged after taxi driver stabbed and police officer assaulted

Two people have been charged after the assault of a taxi driver over the weekend.

Early on Saturday morning, Regina Police were dispatched to the 4500 block of Green Apple Drive for a report of a taxi driver who had been assaulted.

According to police, two females were riding in a taxi when one of them assaulted and stabbed the driver.

Officers would later locate both women in a nearby alley, with one assaulting a police officer during the arrest.

As a result, a 19-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon, with the other female being charged with assault of a peace officer.

Both women are set to make their first court appearance in Provincial Court on September 5th.

Police said the victim was transported to the hospital by EMS but did not say how serious his injuries were.
