Front office shuffle continues for Regina Pats: Dir. of Hockey Ops. Landon Watson moves on to NHL. Pats hire Tristan Frei

 

 

There are more changes inside of the Regina Pats front office.

On Tuesday, the hockey club announced Director of Hockey Operations Landon Watson has left the Pats for an NHL job. Subsequently, the team have announced they have hired Tristan Frei as Manger, Hockey Operations ahead of the 2023-24 Western Hockey League season.

Watson has spent the last seven seasons with the Pats. He originally joined the Pats as an intern in 2016, he would later be promoted to a Video Analyst for the 2016-17 season. In 2018 he moved up to become the team as Director of Hockey Analytics. In 2021, the 28-year-old was promoted to Director of Hockey Operations.

Frei joins the Pats after retiring from professional hockey this summer after spending the last two seasons playing hockey in Europe. The Regina, Sask. product played for the Regina Pat Canadians from 2010-2013 before embarking on a successful career in the SJHL with the Melfort Mustangs, winning league championships in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
