Patsy Cline and Hank Williams stop by Casino Regina…Sort of (Pics)

Lisa Brokop and her husband Paul Jefferson stopped by Casino Regina Thursday evening to remember two classic country icons, Patsy Cline and Hank Williams.

The evening started off with Paul Jefferson performing a set of Hank Williams songs including “Lovesick Blues,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Jambalaya,” and many others. Jefferson, originally from California, stated Hank Williams was his musical idol and, despite having never met him, confessed it was Williams who inspired him to pursue a career in music.

After a brief intermission, Lisa Brokop took to the stage performing the hits of Patsy Cline. Both shows were not impersonations, but rather a history lesson on the music of these two country superstars. Lisa Brokop says Patsy Cline was one of her music idols and would often play several of her songs as a young artist in her sets. She started the evening with “Walking After Midnight,” followed by “I Fall to Pieces,” and “She’s Got You,” which Brokop proclaimed was her favourite Patsy Cline song.

It was a fascinating evening of storytelling and singing in front of a full house at the Casino Regina Show Lounge. Nearly 600 people packed the newly renovated theatre.
