Walters stepping down as Sask Progress Party leader

Just a few months after its new branding became official, the Saskatchewan Progress Party will be looking for a new leader.

Jeff Walters anmnounced on social media he will be stepping down as leader and stepping away from politics, and a party leadership race will soon be called.

Walters said that he believes it is essential for the party to embrace change and renewal, and he is excited to see the energy and enthusiasm that a new leader will bring to the ranks.

The party had been known as the Saskatchewan Liberal Party until a few months ago. A public voting campaign helped re-name and re-brand the party.
