In a span of 26 seconds, Zackary Shantz and Braxton Whitehead scored for Regina to give the Pats the lead.

Dru Mushumanski picked up his first career WHL point with an assist on Whitehead’s game winning goal.

Shantz’s goal was initially wiped off on the ice, but was later reversed on a video review.

Layton Feist, Tanner Howe and Borya Valis also chipped in with goals for the Pats.

Kelton Pyne got the win between the pipes making 29 saves.

Assistant Coach Ken Schneider said after the game his team was rewarded in the third period.

“We had some good opportunities in the first period, but didn’t come up with much, but we hung in there. We kept plugging along and our third period was pretty good.”

Whitehead felt tonight’s win created a lot of positives for the Pats.

“Will to win, that’s all we could focus on, just on the fact of getting the win for the team.”

Regina returns to action on Friday night when they host the Red Deer Rebels at the Brandt Centre.
