Last Mountain Distillery says “goodbye” to Cherry Whiskey

A Saskatchewan-made whiskey will no longer be produced.

Last Mountain Distillery announced on their Facebook Page this year “will be our last Cherry Whisky Season as we say goodbye to a classic, and one of our forever favourites.”

Co-owner and General Manager of Last Mountain Distillery Braeden Raiwet says it was a tough decision.

“We have a couple new holiday products we’re looking to introduce to our customers so it felt like it was that time to transition away from the Cherry Whiskey and introduce some new stuff to our customers,” Raiwet said.

Last Mountain Distillery introduced Cherry Whiskey to customers in 2014, and Raiwet says it was a hit since day one.

“When we launched it 9 years ago, it was kind of overwhelming the demand and how great people came out and bought it here at the distillery, and that demand has grown and grown to the point that we were able to ship it across the province.” he said.

He says the Cherry Whiskey will be available at their Lumsden distillery and online, starting November 4th.
