Pats look to keep momentum going against the Rebels

The Regina Pats will be looking for their second straight win against an Alberta team on home ice as they welcome the Red Deer Rebels tonight.

It was a thrilling comeback 5-4 win for the Pats on Wednesday against the Hitmen. Regina scored four times in the final period to pick up the two points. Pat forwards Braxton Whitehead, Tanner Howe and Zackary Shantz each had multi-point nights.

This week the Pats continued their alterations to their roster. Earlier this week, the team claimed 20-year-old defenceman Carson Haynes off waivers from Vancouver and then placing 20-year-old forward Zack Stringer on waivers.

Yesterday, the Regiment made another move with their blueline, sending Layton Feist to Spokane in exchange for Jaren Brinson. Regina also acquired a pair of picks in the trade.

Red Deer picked up their second win of the season on Saturday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Rebels will travel to Edmonton for a pair of games against the Oil Kings on Saturday and Tuesday following tonight’s game.

The Pats and Rebels will meet four times this season, with three of the contests coming before the Christmas break.
