Police have laid charges after the rainbow pride sidewalk at Regina’s Balfour Collegiate was vandalized with anti queer and transphobic graffiti back in September.

The school’s pride sidewalk had been vandalized on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Regina Police Service School Resource Officers were made aware of the incident and began an investigation, which led to a 41 year-old who was arrested on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

Forty-one year-old Joel Shannon Ross, of Regina, is charged with Mischief Under $5000.

Ross is scheduled to make their first appearance in Provincial Court on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
