Pats meet Blades in Cancer Awareness Game

The Regina Pats will try and get back into the win column on Friday night when they host the Saskatoon Blades.

Tonight is the team’s Cancer Awareness Night, the Pats will be wearing themed jerseys designed by 22Fresh. There is currently an online auction for the jerseys that will run 8:00 pm. Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.

This year will be the 15th Cancer Awareness game for the Pats. Over the last 14 years, the hockey club has raised more than $130,000 in the fight against cancer.

Regina dropped their last two games on the road in Prince Albert and Swift Current. Despite the recent stumble, the Pats find themselves in the middle of the Eastern Conference standings after a month’s worth of action, they trail both the Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors for top spot in the Eastern Division by one point.

On home ice, Regina is 5-1-1 in the 2023-24 regular season, including winning their last four games at the Brandt Centre.

The Pats and Blades will meet for the third time this season, with the home team taking the first two contests. Regina picked up the win in their home opener back in September, while Saskatoon earned the victory two weeks later.
