Charges Laid In Regina’s Eighth Murder

The Regina Police Service is investigating the city’s eighth homicide this year, following an incident that transpired on Saturday, just after 6:30 a.m. The incident unfolded when a call led law enforcement to the 1900 block of Montreal Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 61-year-old man outside a residence, critically injured. Tragically, the victim died of his injuries, marking another grim addition to the city’s homicide count.

The Regina Police Service has urged anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and cooperate with the authorities, or reach out to Regina Crime Stoppers.

In an update Monday morning – authorities have taken action. Roy Julius Dennis Sayer, a 48-year-old individual, has been charged in connection with this homicide. Sayer is now facing a second-degree murder charge and is scheduled to appear in court this morning.

In 2022, the city saw eight homicides.
