Co-Op Offering Open House on New Facilities

Federated Co-Op is holding an open house today, to talk about their proposed renewable diesel plant, and a canola crusher in partnership with AGT Foods.

The open house is at the Turvey Centre on Armour Road from noon until 6.

The two facilities, known as the Integrated Agriculture Complex would be built on lands north, and east of the current Co-Op Refinery.

“As we transition to a low-carbon economy and expand the production of plant based fuels, it’s imperative that we engage in credible and meaningful public consultation,” said Heather Ryan, FCL, CEO. “It’s important to us that we connect and directly communicate with the people and businesses that neighbour these proposed facilities.”

The canola crushing plant is expected to handle 1.1 million tons of canola, to help the Co-Op create up to 15-thousand barrels of renewable diesel per day.

“We’re committed to establishing an open and transparent dialogue with all stakeholders to lay a positive foundation that will serve us throughout the lifecycle of these projects.” said Ryan.
