Pats to honour Canadian Armed Forces at Wednesday’s home game

Wednesday night’s Regina Pats game against the Saskatoon Blades at the Brandt Centre will be Canadian Armed Forces Night.

More than 200 guests in uniform will be in attendance for the game including pre-game festivities featuring members of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) and other military groups.

Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Staniowski, a Regina Pats alumnus, will be on hand with a significant announcement on behalf of the Royal Regina Rifles Trust Fund.

Staniowski spent four seasons with the Pats, setting records in most games played and wins by a goalie in franchise history. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985 after a ten-year professional career with the St. Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers.

Also on Wednesday night, Brandt will be offering two free tickets to any military personnel who show their ID at the box office.
