Medicine Hat jumped out to a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes before adding four goals in the second period.

Bogdan Hodass led the Tigers with four points (1G-3A), Cayden Lindstrom and Oasiz Wiesblatt each had a pair of goals, with Liam Ruck, Shane Smith and Kadon McCann also scoring.

Evan May picked up the shutout with 23 saves.

Ewan Huet made 19 saves in 40 minutes of action, Kelton Pyne came in relief and had 8 saves in the final period.

After the game, Pats Head Coach Brad Herauf said Wednesday’s result was a tough pill to swallow.

“Unfortunately, we had some individuals who weren’t very good and some guys who were pretty good. In the second period we had three breakaways and two grade A chances in the first 10 minutes when it was a 2-0 game, and we didn’t score on those. I know we were down 4-0, but I still thought we were creating chances.”

Herauf says the Pats are creating scoring opportunities lately, they’re having trouble finishing their chances.

“For us as a coaching staff we got to stay positive, keep that positive energy going, hopefully keeping working hard and don’t succumb to the frustration.”

Regina’s record drops down to 10-12-1-1, the Pats will try and snap their three-game losing skid on Friday night when they travel to Edmonton to meet the Oil Kings.
