The Salvation Army is gearing up for their annual Santa Shuffle run and fundraiser this Saturday, December 2nd at the Conexus Arts Centre. The event is open to people of all ages and will kick off at 9:45am with a warmup. Walkers and runners will then take off at 10:00am for the 5km run. After the run, there will be draws and a lunch served for participants.

“There’s going to be 37 communities across the country where people will be participating and running and shuffling,” explained Major Al Hoeft. “You definitely don’t have to be a runner, It’s a fun run, it’s a family run.”

Hoeft says it’s not uncommon for people to dress up in costumes for the run which features nearly 150 participants this year.

“It’s an opportunity to get together, have some fun as a family (or) as friends, but at the same time, raise some money to help the Salvation Army this Christmas,” noted Major Hoeft.
