RCMP charge woman in Yorkton homicide

Yorkton RCMP has arrested and charged a 61-year-old woman with second-degree murder after police found a dead body in a residence last week.

On November 30, police completed a welfare check at a residence on 6th Avenue North in Yorkton, where officers found and located a dead man, who has been identified as William Byblow.

Two days later, on December 1, police arrested Donna Spilchen. Police had initially been seeking Spilchen to confirm her safety.

Spilchen is charged with one count of second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday, December 4, 2023.
