QBs Jordan McCloud and Zach Zebrowski among the players on Roughriders negotiation list

The Canadian Football League (CFL) unveiled ten players from each team’s winter negotiation list on Tuesday.

Clubs are required to do so twice a year, in September and once again in December.

Here is the Saskatchewan Roughriders list.

One notable player on the Roughriders list is James Madison University Quarterback Jordan McCloud.

McCloud recently announced that he would be transferring to his fourth collegiate team in 2024 following James Madison University’s first ever Bowl game, the Armed Forces Bowl, against the Air Force later this month.

The 24-year-old was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 2023 after he threw for for 3,400 yards with 32 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also ran for 311 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns.

Prior to joining the Dukes, McCloud spent time at University of South Florida (2018-20) and Arizona (2021-22).

His brother, Ray-Ray, is currently a wide receiver and returner with the San Francisco 49ers.

The other quarterback on the Roughriders list is Central Missouri’s Zach Zebrowski.

It was a record breaking year in 2023 for Zebrowski. He set new NCAA Division II records for passing touchdowns (61), total offensive yards (5,690), points responsible for (380) and TDs responsible for (63 – 61 pass, two rush).

Zebrowski has been selected as one of the nine finalists of the Harlon Hill Award, the NCAA Division II College Football Player of the Year.

Former Alabama and Washington(NFL) Defensive End Ryan Anderson is also on the Roughriders list.

During his time with the Crimson Tide (2013-16), Anderson was named to the First-Team All-SEC during his senior season in 2016. He recorded 61 tackles, 8.5 sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass deflections and a defensive touchdown.

Anderson was selected by Washington in the second round (49th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Following his time in Washington (2017-20), the Daphne, Alabama product spent time with the New York Giants (2021) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2022). He was released by the Steelers in November of 2022.

Former Tennessee Volunteers Wide Receiver Josh Malone has been listed by the Roughriders.

After he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round (128th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft, Malone spent two seasons with the Bengals (2017-18) before he moved on to the New York Jets, where he also spent two seasons (2019-20).

Since then, the 27-year-old spent time with the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers.

He spent some time earlier this season in the XFL with the D.C Defenders.
